Tamarindo Diving

Explore some great scuba diving at the islands off Tamarindo

This Tamarindo diving trip goes to the Catalina Islands, which is a group of different volcanic rock formations that emerge to the surface at the Flamingo Bay. These circumstances provide a special setting for the abundant marine life.

You’ll be picked up at the hotel and driven to the Flamingo Marina 20 miles away and then off to enjoy Tamarindo scuba diving at its finest! Las Catalinas hosts an abundance of marine life including huge manta rays, white tip reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, and devil rays. There are also schools of cow nose rays as well as schools of jacks and grunts are among the most common species that divers usually spot in these rich waters.

The bottom is mostly volcanic and the average maximum depth is 70 – 80 feet. Visibility, currents, and conditions, in general, tend to change every day. Currents, when present, are not strong, divers drift with it and the boat follows to pick them up at the end of the dive. Visibility varies from 30 feet to 60-70 feet, depending on the day and the season. Our Tamarindo diving operator works under the PADI Association rules.
